Report: Russia says to look for new ways of ignoring sanctions

MOSCOW, Dec 14 (PRIME) -- Russia will look for new forms of ignoring the negative effect of Western sanctions, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told the Iranian national broadcasting company on December 12.

"Concerning the economic consequences, we have managed not to allow trade and economic cooperation, including the one between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union, to shrink,” Lavrov said.

“The opposite is true: it is widening, including due to the rejection of the dollar, the shift of focus to the use of national currencies, the use of new creative ways of economic interaction. It works. I am sure that we will look for new forms of ignoring the negative economic effect of sanctions."

He added that Russia will continue to focus on dedollarization of transactions with Iran.
